Autoharp Tour Team

UKA Banner

The main aim of UK Autoharps is to promote the instrument and the organisation. Over the years our membership has continued to grow throughout the country. However so many people from all ages and backgrounds have never heard of an autoharp let alone seen one. We hope to expand. But we need your help and input to do it. We need to get more organised Online. This will enable us to reach a new audience and share the joys of autoharping.

New Mailing List

UK AUTOHARP NEWS FLASH is the title of our new autoharp bulletin. In line with the new General Data Protection Regulations, we are compiling a new mailing list. This will keep our members and friends up to date with Autoharp workshops, events, meet-ups, pop-ups, promotions and more. Our new mailing list is powered by ‘mailchimp’ software and allows you total control of the ‘Autoharping Information’ you wish to receive. Please ensure you select ALL the ‘Autoharp Interests’ that apply. It also allows you to simply change your details and choices or unsubscribe at any time. We do ask for some personal details, not all of these are necessary to subscribe. However providing your address or area you live and your musical interests will help us plan relevant events in your area the future. If you have any queries about how we hold and secure your data, more information can be found direct from mailchimp and in the UKA Privacy Statement.

2019 and beyond...

Aotpharps On Tour
Aotpharps Starwars

We are currently creating an Autoharps Tour Team. Primarily they will be covering Scotland, where our members are more geographically scattered. For many years there have been regular autoharp meet ups in the south west of Scotland in Wigtownshire and Moniaive. More Info...

We are now expanding and will be having regular meet ups in the central belt. To be kept up to date subscribe to mailing list and please ensure you select the 'Autoharping Scotland' choice. Meet ups will be held fortnightly in both Uddingstone and Glasgow alternately.

Our first festival of 2019 was at the internationally acclaimed music festuval Celtic Connections. This was a great success with around a dozen of our members helping to man the stall which was located in the foyer of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. We discovered many 'closet' autoharpers, (their autoharps have been in the closet since the early 70s). We also managed to give allot of hands on experience and introduced the instrument to a wide range of folks. Chewbacha and a couple of jedi pilots, took a break during performances with the RSNOs Sci-Fi extravaganza, joining us for a strum. Great fun.

We plan to pop-up at various events this year providing stalls/workshops and performances. If you want to be part of this ensure you tick 'Volunteer at Events' under 'Autoharping Interest...' on Subscribe form.
