The Ninth annual Scottish Autoharp Weekend devoted to all things Autoharp will happen in the Dumfriesshire village of Moniaive.

This is a very friendly event and a great place to meet up with friends old and new. This event has become very popular over the years.

Moniaive is a picturesque little village in the heart of Dumfries and Tim at the Craigdaroch always gives a warm welcome to the onslaught of musicians.

SUNDAY 11th August

In a change from previous years, we are currently planning a FREE Gospel Music play-and-sing-along session for the middle of the day on Sunday, to be chaired by Mike Fenton and Maeve Toner. ALL are welcome to come along, sing, play and lead a song if you wish, as we explore how Old-Time American Gospel Songs fit so beautifully with autoharp accompaniment. Timing T.B.C.

ACCOMMODATION

chapter.moniaive.org.uk - If you would like some information about accommodation in the area please view the above website – however it’s not necessarily ALL the options.
The Craigdarroch and The George get booked up quickly.
Glencairn Guest House is not on the list yet. It is a friendly B&B run by Yvonne and Rodger. Situated on the corner accross from the Craigdarroch, sure it will prove popular.

There is plenty of accommodation available in the town of Dumfries, but that this is about a half-hour's drive away from Moniaive. If folks are interested in camping (i.e. a tent or a caravan) they should contact event host Nadine for further advice: nadine@ifwtech.co.uk
